(GOOD AS GOLD celebrates award season’s underrated standouts.)
WOLFS star two of Hollywood’s most recognizable leading men – GEORGE CLOONEY and BRAD PITT – as rival fixers chasing a young man who’s in deep trouble.
Their quarry, referred only as Kid in the Apple TV+ film, is played by AUSTIN ABRAMS. In extended scenes he’s dead-sprinting away from the two through various New York locations. It’s a fitting introduction to the actor’s scene-stealing character.
Kid is by turns sweet and hilarious, and Abrams, who’s also known for HBO’s EUPHORIA, pulls of a cinematic acting heist and runs away with the film by conjuring up genuine emotions in absurd situations and displaying agile comedic timing. Not an easy feat with like Clooney and Pitt around.
Abrams also costarred with Midori Francis in DASH & LILY, the charming Netflix series, one of its best holiday-set shows.
WOLFS also has Poorna Jagannathan and Amy Ryan in highly entertaining, if shorter, roles.
